The box formula
Boxes needed: ceiling(room area × (1 + waste %) ÷ square feet per box).
If the buy area is 198 sq ft and each box covers 23.5 sq ft, 8.43 boxes rounds up to 9 boxes.

- Room area after measuring all spaces.
- Waste percentage appropriate for the material and layout.
- Exact square feet per box from the product label.
- Whether the retailer accepts unopened box returns.
Why extra boxes help
